Ephesians 3:14-15
14 For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, (WEB) Paul the Apostle started one of the most powerful prayers found in the Bible in Ephesians 3:14-21 with today's Scripture passage in verses 14-15 from the NIV Bible... 14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. (NIV) Jesus told us in John 17:3 that the very definition of eternal life was knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He sent. And there is only one way to relate to God as Father and that is for us to carry within our hearts the revelation that we are His kids! The only people that earthly fathers relate to as a 'father' are their own children. They may be a husband to their wife, a leader in their church, a worker in their industry, but to their children they are simply... 'Dad'. I truly believe that knowing God as Father is the missing piece in the human heart. We were created to know Him as Father. We were destined to be His beloved children and it was the very mission of Jesus to bring us home (John 14:6). My prayer today, is that each one of us would be able to echo the prayer that Paul prayed in Ephesians 3 by declaring that God is truly our Father and that He is Father to all His family in heaven and in earth. Ephesians 3:14-21 14 For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (WEB) Comments are closed.
