John 8:28-29
28 Jesus therefore said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me, I say these things. 29 He who sent me is with me. The Father hasn’t left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.” (WEB) What a beautiful picture of the intimacy shared between God the Father and God the Son. Jesus lived His life in complete dependence on His Heavenly Father and plainly declared that He could do nothing of Himself. Everything that Jesus did was to make His Father smile. Jesus lived to please His Dad and to be an exact representation of His being (Hebrews 1:3). And Jesus was never alone either. He lived in a constant state of abiding in His Father's presence. Though there were times when He would leave the crowds to go up on a mountain and pray, even at the busiest moments in His ministry, His Father was close by. As we live our lives today, may we all be aware of the nearness of God to us too! In John 14:23 tells us that He would come and His Father would come, and they both would make their home in our hearts. We are never alone in this life. At the end of the Great Commission, Jesus promised to be with us always, even unto the ends of the earth. My prayer today is that you wouldn't feel alone in life. I pray that you will feel the nearness of the Godhead in you and around you wherever you go. He hasn't left you alone. He is closer to you than you could possibly imagine. May the Holy Spirit bring a fresh revelation of His nearness to you right now. Psalm 139:7-10 7 Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there! 9 If I take the wings of the dawn and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.
