CHRIST LIVING IN ME

Galatians 2:19-21
19 For I, through the law, died to the law, that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. 21 I don’t make void the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!” (WEB)

I am sure that most readers are very familiar with this passage of Scripture. In it, the Apostle Paul declares that he no longer lives because it is Christ living in him. This verse is like many other verses in the Bible that make extraordinary statements about God actually living in us.

While at first glance we can all say a big 'amen' to this statement for us too, my question is... Do we really grasp the implication of this declaration in our daily lives? Think about it for a moment. The old you no longer lives. When you came to Christ, 'the old you' died and you have a new heavenly identity joined to Jesus.

From a biblical perspective, our spiritual man is now hid with Christ in God (Colossians 3:1-2) and seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2). Because we live in a fallen world system with earthly mindsets surrounding us on every turn, it can be difficult to grasp such wonderful spiritual realities. But the truth is, the spiritual realities are more real than the broken, false perceptions all around us.

My prayer today is that we would all have a spiritual awakening to the truth that Christ actually lives in us! I pray that we would be more aware today that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit than we have ever been in our lives. May the reality of Christ in you the hope of glory resonate through every fiber of your being today!

Ephesians 1:15-23
15 For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints, 16 don’t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might 20 which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. 22 He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
