Colossians 1:26-27
26 the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints, 27 to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory; (WEB) What was the mystery that was revealed to the saints? ...Christ in you, the hope of glory. What are the riches of God's glory that was hidden for ages and generations before Jesus came to earth? ...Christ in you, the hope of glory. What guarantees your acceptance to your heavenly Father but... Christ in you, the hope of glory. Now I realize that I am being quite repetitive in this blog, but I cannot emphasize enough the simple truth of the Christian life... Christ in you, the hope of glory. Now you may be reading today's blog and you might be thinking... "I know that already! I learned it in Sunday School. I want to learn something more profound." If that is your response, my challenge to you would be to ask yourself if you have fully comprehended the profound nature of this one statement? Because if you really have grasped the reality that the God of the universe has joined Himself with you, this one statement would be far greater to grasp than anything else you have ever learned in your life. I believe that the religious leaders of Jesus' day had the ability to make the very simple...complex. In contrast, I believe that Jesus came to make the complex, very simple. What we could never possibly fathom in our own human understanding, the God of heaven made a reality by providing a way for us to be united with Christ through the finished work of Jesus' death and resurrection. There is no greater answer to every one of our challenges in life but... Christ in me, the hope of glory. I am not the hope of glory, He is. And because of the Godhead's great love for me, I am now caught up in the most wonderful relationship that exists within the Trinity. As Jesus prayed to His Father in the first part of John 17:23... I in them, and you in me, (WEB). My prayer today is that we would all know that we have been saved by grace through faith which was given to us as an absolutely free gift from God so that no one could ever boast about it (Ephesians 2:8-9). I pray that none of us would look to our own resources for our salvation for it is Christ in us, which is truly the hope of glory. Our Christian life started and will be completed by the finished work of Jesus and Jesus alone (Philippians 1:6) It has never been about us and it will never be about us. The wonder of our salvation has always been and will always be... Christ in you, the hope of glory!!!!!! Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. (WEB) Comments are closed.
