Galatians 4:19
My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you-- (WEB) I love the tenderness in which the Apostle shares today's Bible reading with the Galatians church... With a mother's heart toward them, he speaks of his travail in child birth on their behalf until Christ is formed in them. I appreciate how the Amplified Bible translates Galatians 4:19... My little children, for whom I am again suffering birth pangs until Christ is completely and permanently formed (molded) within you, (AMP) We are all in the process of having Christ completely and permanently molded within us. We are all being conformed day by day into the image of God's beloved Son. In Romans 8:29, Paul writes... For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (WEB) In 2 Corinthians 3:18, Paul describes this process as being transformed from glory to glory. Every day is a new opportunity for us to be transformed from one degree of glory into another. Lamentations 3:23 tells us that God's tender mercies are new every morning, so every day is yet one more chance for us to be fashioned into the image of the first born. Whether we are aware of the changes or not, we are all going through the process where Christ is being formed in us. So be of good courage and know that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). You are His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), not your own. It doesn't matter how fast or how slow the process goes. We are all going in the same direction and one day we will ALL be like Jesus when we see Him face to face. My prayer today is that we would all enjoy the journey along the way. 1 John 3:1-2 1 Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is. (WEB) Comments are closed.
