Galatians 3:5-7
5 He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith? 6 Even as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.” 7 Know therefore that those who are of faith, the same are children of Abraham. (WEB) Abraham was an amazing man. He packed up and left his home town just because God asked him to. He wandered around in a strange country for years not knowing where he was going simply because God was leading him to. He was even willing to offer up his own son, Isaac, as an offering to the Lord until an angel intervened. However, if you look closely at Abraham's life, he wasn't perfect. He had flaws like anyone else. Yet, there was something very special about Abraham... He believed God. And that believing was counted to him as righteousness. In today's Bible reading, the Apostle Paul tells us that those who are of faith, the same are children of Abraham. Everyone who has ever believed in Jesus is counted as one of Abraham's offspring. Everyone who has received the free gift of Jesus' life through faith is now counted as part of a pretty impressive family line which includes Abraham. My prayer today is that we would all see how much God values our faith. I believe that when we believe in His Son and trust in Him with all our hearts (despite not being able to see Him with our natural eyes), it touches Him like nothing else can. When we get to heaven, there will be no need for us to exercise our faith any longer, for we will be with God and will see Him as He is. But as long as we are living on this side of eternity, we have the awesome privilege of living our lives by faith. It is our faith that blesses our Dad. May each one of us see the incredible opportunity we have this side of heaven to walk by faith and not by sight. 1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. (WEB) Comments are closed.
