Hebrews 2:9-10
9 But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone. 10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings. (WEB) The whole point of what Jesus did on the cross was to bring many children to glory. Romans 8:29 says that Jesus is the firstborn among many brothers. In John 20:17, right after He rose from the dead, Jesus had this message for His disciples... ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Jesus didn't die so that He could raise up a bunch of workers in His Father's Kingdom. He died so that we all could have the power to become children of God (John 1:12-13). And as God's kids, the glory of our Father is revealed in us because we carry His DNA (1 John 3:9). As we continue to behold the shining face of our Elder Brother Jesus, we are transformed from one degree of glory into the next (2 Corinthians 3:18). My prayer today is that we would all see what our true destiny is. We were bought with the highest price so that we could be part of the most amazing family in the universe. Our Heavenly Father has honored us by sacrificing the life of His Son to purchase our redemption. May we know our true worth to God and be fully aware that the reason why Jesus suffered as He did was so He could bring many children to glory. 2 Corinthians 4:5-7 5 For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake; 6 seeing it is God who said, “Light will shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves.
