Philippians 4:12-13
12 I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. 13 I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. (WEB) When we usually quote verse 13 of this passage of Scripture, we seldom include the previous verse. When we declare... 'I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me', we are typically referring to something other than contentment. While it is true that this declaration can be applicable to every impossible task that our Father asks us to do, it also implies to learning to be content in the midst of being humbled or in times of abundance. My prayer is that we would all learn the secret of contentment. May we see that the love that God has for us is consistent and ever flowing... in times of lack and in times of blessings. Our God and Father loves us all the same in whatever season we are in. May we know that any circumstance that life throws our way can never separate us from the amazing, eternal love that God has for us. Whatever comes, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
