Luke 22:29-30
29 I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me, 30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” (WEB) It is amazing to see how we have now been invited into the whirlwind of relationship that exists within the Trinity itself. In today's Scripture passage, we read how Jesus told His disciples that He was conferring on them a kingdom just like His Father conferred one on Him! As a matter of fact, everything that Jesus receives from His Father, He gladly passes on to us. In John 15:9, He tells us...Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love. (WEB) In John 20:21, Jesus tells us His disciples... As the Father has sent me, even so I send you. (WEB) Just as Jesus received the kingdom mandate from His Father, we too have received the very same kingdom mandate. Because Jesus lives in us (Galatians 2:20), we do not have to figure out how it all works in our own strength. Our only work is to simply yield to Christ in us and watch what He does through us! My prayer today is that each and every one of us would be aware that our Heavenly Father has conferred upon us the same kingdom that He conferred on His beloved Son. May we have eyes to see what that means in our own unique sphere of influence and may we remember that we do not go alone, for Jesus promised that He would go with us! Matthew 28:18-20 18 Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (WEB) Comments are closed.
