1 Corinthians 3:16
Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you? (WEB) I find it interesting that the Apostle Paul seems a little perplexed when he asks this question to the Corinthians church in today's reading... 'Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you?' It is like he is saying (my paraphrase) 'Hey guys, have you already forgotten who you are now? Your actual body is the very temple of the living God and God Himself actually lives in you!!!!' I don't know about you, but I need to be reminded of this life-changing, mind-boggling truth from time to time myself. It seems that living in an orphan based, fallen world can wear us down bit by bit until we forget that the Spirit of the living God actually has made His home in our hearts. My prayer today is that we would all be reminded of this simple, but profound truth. We are partakers of the divine nature this side of heaven! We have been joined with Jesus already and are seated in heavenly places right now (Ephesians 2:6). The more that we believe that this is true, the less the things of this fallen world we be able to convince us otherwise. May this bring encouragement to the discouraged, hope to the hopeless and joy to the brokenhearted. We are not alone in this world. God Himself has chosen to make His dwelling place in our hearts. John 14:23 Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him. (WEB) Comments are closed.
