Galatians 4:28 Now we, brothers, as Isaac was, are children of promise. (WEB) This is a profound statement that the Apostle Paul made to the church at Galatia. Although they were Gentiles by birth, because of their new redemption in Christ, they are considered children of promise, just like Isaac was. As this was good news for the Galatians, it is good news for us, too! We are children of promise—and not only children of promise but also recipients of all the blessings that flow down through the generational line from Abraham! My question to you and me is this: Are we acting like we are children of the promise, or are we acting as if we are still under the curse of sin? I encourage us to ask the Holy Spirit for a deeper revelation of our rich inheritance in Christ. It doesn't matter where you were born or what your social status is... You are a child of promise! It doesn't matter how much money you have or how educated you are. If you are in Christ, you are a child of promise! Today, I pray that our lives' reality will align with the truth of who God says we are. We are His kids and joint heirs with our elder brother Jesus! The power of the cross secured that for you and I so that we wouldn't have to. As the following passage of Scripture so wonderfully says, Jesus became a curse for us that the blessings of Abraham might be ours too! Galatians 3:13-14 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,” 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
