37 If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me. 38 But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works; that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.” (WEB)
The reason why Jesus did the works that He did was to let us know that He was in His Father and His Father was in Him. It was Jesus' passion that people understood where He came from, who sent Him, and who was behind the works that He was doing. Every act of kindness that Jesus expressed was done in union with His Father. Every healing, every miracle, every word of forgiveness... all flowed from Jesus and the Father being in complete unity.
As every believer is now 'in Christ' through the finished work of the cross, we too are part of this amazing work! As we do the works of Jesus and greater things than He did, we are participating in our Father's works as well. As the Father conferred a kingdom on Jesus, Jesus then in turn conferred a kingdom on us. We are all called to be part of the Father's work that millions of sons and daughters are involved in worldwide. What an honor and a privilege for us to be co-laborers with our elder brother in such awesome things!
My prayer today is that we would all know that we are in Jesus and Jesus is in His Father, so that means that the Father is in us too! We are all called into the glorious fellowship of the Godhead through the indwelling Holy Spirit, that will cause us to do even greater works in the coming days! Hallelujah!
22 The glory which you have given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one; 23 I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me. (WEB)
