Romans 6:4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. (WEB) I am sure that every believer that reads today's Bible passage would say a big 'amen!' at the end of the verse, for this is the promise that we all have in Christ. But my question today is... Are we living in the reality of this promise now? For many of us, we see the promise of a new life in Christ as something to look forward to when we go to heaven but that is not what this verse says. Most certainly we will see the completion of the finished work of Christ when we see Jesus face to face, but we have the privilege of beginning to walk out His resurrection life here on earth as well! My prayer today is that we would all know that 'we were buried' in baptism in Christ which is past tense. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead now resides in every believer that has received the free gift of eternal life. Whether our emotions or our circumstances agree with this truth or not... We are new creations now! May God give us the grace to walk as if this is a tangible reality in our day to day lives. Colossians 3:1-3 1 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (WEB) I have some exciting news to share!
