1 Peter 4:11
If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (WEB) This Scripture verse has been both very encouraging and sobering. As someone who does his share of teaching, thinking that I should teach as if I am speaking God’s words brings mixed emotions in me. First, it feels like a lot of responsibility! But second, it is so encouraging to think that our Father might trust me with His own words. I think the point of today's Scripture is that whatever we do, we should do it as if God were doing it through us. The whole point is that our Father might be glorified through Jesus Christ in all we do. So whether you are preaching to thousands or doing the dishes, do it to the glory of God. I pray that we will all see that our Father considers our entire life sacred, not just the things we consider 'more spiritual.' He lives in us and goes wherever we go. When we play with our children, He is right there with us. When we go to work, He goes with us. May we see that everything in our lives is truly a sacrifice that blesses His heart. Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. (WEB) Comments are closed.
