I IN THEM AND YOU IN ME

John 17:23
I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me. (WEB)

This Bible verse is one of the most profound statements in the New Testament. Jesus declares to His Father the words that would forever change our relationship to God: 'I in them, and you in me' (WEB). The Son of the living God has chosen to join Himself with us for all eternity. He is in us, and we are in Him. Since Jesus and His Father are one, that makes us in His Father, too!

In John 14:23, Jesus describes every believer's divine union with the Trinity when He says... “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. (WEB) The truth is that we are no longer called to live a life separate from the Godhead! We are joined to Father by being in the Son through the Holy Spirit that lives in us!

If you feel estranged from God and left on your own to figure out the Christian life, may today's Bible verse center you back to the truth of His Word. Every believer who has received the free gift of Jesus Christ has now been joined with Him! We no longer live, but it is Christ who lives in us (Galatians 2:20).

May the reality of our new life in Christ and the fact that we are fully reconciled to our heavenly Father (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) cause the eyes of our hearts to be opened (Ephesians 1:17-23) and give us the supernatural ability to believe that our Father loves us just like He loves His Son, Jesus!

2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (WEB)
