FATHER'S GOOD PLEASURE

Luke 12:32
Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. (WEB)

I never tire of talking about this verse in the Bible. I absolutely love the tenderness in which Jesus reassures His disciples of their heavenly Father's delight to give them the full measure of His kingdom. What a beautiful picture of the Great Shepherd and His concern for His sheep.

Jesus knew there would be times when this promise would be put to the test in their lives. Because we are called to live by faith and not by sight, often what we see does not line up with what has been promised. It is at these times in our lives where we need to revisit Scriptures like today to be comforted in knowing that it is our Father's delight to give to us everything that exists in heaven.

My prayer today is that we would know that we are part of His 'little flock'. The Godhead (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) is committed to imparting to us everything that now belongs to us by reason of us being joined with Jesus. Because of the cross, Jesus' life is now our life. His inheritance is now our inheritance. His kingdom is now the kingdom in which we live.

May each one of us experience a fresh revelation today on what it means to receive the kingdom of our God and Father, not only in eternity, but right now.
