Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. (WEB) The evidence that we are growing in our sonship to our Heavenly Father is that we are led by the Spirit of God. If we take a moment to consider what it means to be led, we will have a greater understanding of this Bible verse. Simply put, to be led means that someone else (other than you) is doing the leading! To be led means that we assume a posture of waiting to be led. In the 40 years that the Israelites wandered in the wilderness, the presence of God was in their midst in the form of a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. When God moved, they moved. When God stayed still, they rested and waited. In a world system that applauds self-sufficiency, initiative and independence, this can be a challenging concept to get a hold of. When we learn to live a life of waiting to be led by the Spirit of God, we will only move when He moves. I don't know about you, but for me personally, this has been quite challenging at times. I can easily get impatient and want to move when God is not moving. The end result is usually me creating wood, hay and stubble. But the Spirit of God is so loving and merciful to me, that He always gives me yet another chance to follow His leading. My prayer today is that we would see the many benefits of living a life simply being led. May God give us the wisdom to discern when we are trying to lead when He wants us to just follow. 1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him. (WEB) Comments are closed.
